The owners of a 2007 Lexus LS460 contacted the Gilbert Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of their residence sometime overnight.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later an auto theft detective from the Gilbert PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detective tracked the Lexus to a neighborhood near Ocotillo Road and Greenfield Road in Gilbert.

The stolen Lexus was found unoccupied on a dead end street, parked in front of a vacant lot.  It appeared that the Lexus was dumped at this location, so it was recovered and processed for evidence.  The owners were contacted and responded to the scene.  The Lexus was returned to the owners in good condition.
