The owners of a 2008 Toyota Avalon contacted the Irvington Police Department to report that their vehicle was taken from in front of their home in the City of Irvington. The Toyota was running with the keys in it at the time of the theft.

The Irvington PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2008 Toyota Avalon.

A short while later officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to Foster Street in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was recovered parked on the street with no damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Toyota Avalon in August 2012 at Enterprise in Clifton, New Jersey.
