The owner of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Tulsa Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a residence in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Tulsa PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.
A short while later an officer with the Chicago Police Department, Illinois, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in patrol cars and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officer successfully tracked and located the stolen Cadillac parked on the street and unoccupied in the 3700 block of W. 55th Place in Chicago. When recovered, the Cadillac was in good condition and undamaged. The recovered Cadillac was secured until the owner could be notified and the vehicle returned.
The LoJack® Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Cadillac Escalade in August 2006 at Ed Moore Cadillac in Delray Beach, Florida.
