The renter of a 2011 Wacker roller contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that the roller was stolen from his job site.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Wacker roller.

A short while later, officers with the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen roller with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in their patrol cars.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen roller to a house.  In the driveway connected to a Ford pickup was a cargo trailer.   Officers determined that the LoJack signal to the stolen roller was coming from inside the cargo trailer.  Officer made contact with the homeowner, who gave them permission to search the cargo trailer.  Inside the cargo trailer, officer found the stolen roller hidden behind several boxes.  The homeowner stated that an individual hires him to take construction equipment into Mexico about once a week.  He did not know the name of the individual.  He was arrested.  In the driveway, officers found two generators and a Honda compactor.  The Honda compactor was also stolen.  The homeowner told officers he did not own the generators.  The officers confiscated the generators.
