The owners of a 2008 Nissan Sentra contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was taken from in front of their house in the City of Newark while it was warming up.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2008 Nissan Sentra.

A short while later officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department and the Newark PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to Lyons Ave. in the City of Newark, where the Nissan was recovered parked on the street with no damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Nissan Sentra in September 2008 at Bay Ridge Nissan in Brooklyn, New York.
