The owner of a Ford F250 pickup contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  This Ford was rented for one day by the suspect and it was never returned.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, the Dallas PD helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in their helicopter.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter tracked the stolen Ford pickup to a house, where it was parked in the driveway.  The helicopter directed patrol squads to the house.  Officers met with the witness who lives at the house.  She stated that the suspect who rented this Ford lives at the house also.  He was arrested for outstanding warrants “just yesterday” and is currently in the county jail.  An arrest warrant for this offense will be issued.  The Ford pickup was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford pickup in February of 2011 via Commercial Sales.
