The owners of a Subaru Outback wagon contacted the Boulder Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The investigating police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

A short time later Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Troopers tracked the Subaru to the rear of a restaurant near 56th and Federal Blvd. in Denver.  The Subaru was not occupied.  It was secured for the safe return to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru in February 1999 at Cityside Subaru in Belmont, Massachusetts.
