The owner of a 2011 Lexus GX460 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from her apartment parking lot.  The owner woke up in the morning and realized that she was missing her car keys and may have dropped them in the apartment parking lot the night before.  When she went to check on her Lexus, it was missing.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Fifty three minutes later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in their patrol cars.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Lexus to an apartment complex, where they found it abandoned in the parking lot.  The Lexus was in good condition.  Officers are reviewing the apartment complex’s surveillance video to see if they can identify a suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus GX460 in April of 2011 at Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Texas.
