The owner of this Toyota Tundra contacted the Los Angeles Police Department and reported that vehicle had been stolen. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within less than 14 minutes from the activation, the LAPD Air-3 flight officers picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Toyota Tundra with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their aircraft and patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the Toyota to the area of Figueroa St and 95th St where they observed the Toyota parked in a lot of a local motel.  Responding ground units from the LAPD Newton Division located the Toyota and observed a male exiting the vehicle.  He was detained, searched and upon completion the officers located personal property of the victim on his person. The suspect was arrested and later booked for unlawful taking of a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission. The victim responded to the scene and the undamaged Toyota was released.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed on this Toyota in October 2004 at David Wilson South Coast Toyota.
