During the early morning hours the owner of the 2009 Toyota Tundra discovered the truck had been stolen from Ogden City, Utah.  The owner immediately contacted the Ogden City Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.  Law enforcement suspected the Toyota may have been removed from the State because it had a “border crossing” sticker in the back window.

An Investigator with the Utah State Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division began picking up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in his patrol vehicle.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack transponder, the investigator quickly tracked the Toyota into a residential neighborhood in the area of Ogden City. Backup officers with the Ogden City PD arrived to assist in the recovery from a private driveway, and the occupants were contacted. The investigation continues and the suspect has been identified.

The LoJack® System was installed on the Toyota in May 2009 at Toyota of Orange, CA.
