The renter of a 2007 Multiquip generator contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that this generator was stolen off of a job site.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the generator’s information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the generator.

A short while later, the Dallas PD helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen generator with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in their helicopter.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter tracked the stolen generator to a storage facility and directed patrol officers to it.  The patrol officers were able to pick up the signal and were able to determine which storage room the stolen generator was inside of.  The storage room was locked.  A search warrant was executed and the stolen generator was recovered inside the storage room.  The name of the storage room renter was provided to the officers by the storage facility manager.  An arrest warrant is pending.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Multiquip generator in June of 2007 via Commercial Sales.
