The owner of a 2003 Ford Taurus contacted the Metro Nashville Police Department in Nashville, Tennessee, to report that their vehicle was stolen from a their residence in Nashville.

The Metro Nashville PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Taurus.

Later on that same day a Metro Nashville Police Officer while on routine patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford Taurus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Ford in the downtown area. The Ford was located and a traffic stop was initiated. One of the occupants of the Ford exited and attempted to hide but was quickly captured. The driver and occupant of the Ford were taken into custody.

The Ford Taurus was impounded at the scene and transported to the Metro Nashville Police Impound Lot for further investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Ford Taurus at Herb Chambers Toyota in January 2006.
