The owner of a 2007 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department in Hyattsville, Maryland, to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 500 block Chillum Road.
The Prince George’s County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover.
A short while later officers from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2007 Land Rover Range Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Range Rover to the 800 block Juniper Street NW in Washington, DC. At that location, officers observed the Range Rover parked and unoccupied. Officers recovered the Range Rover and contacted the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover during July 2007 at Land Rover of Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia.
