The owner of a 2008 BMW 328i 4-door sedan contacted the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers.

The next morning, a Hollywood Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 328i on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The PTC enables law enforcement officers to track, locate and recover stolen vehicles quickly and safely. The officer began tracking the stolen BMW by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the BMW inside of a parking lot used by a “repo” company in the 2100 block of Johnson Street. The BMW was recovered and removed from federal and state crime computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 BMW 328i in May 2008 at Braman BMW in West Palm Beach, Florida.
