The owner of a 1999 Honda CRV contacted the Hopewell Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway at their home while the vehicle was running with the keys in the ignition unattended. An unknown suspect entered the Honda and drove away.

The Hopewell PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 1999 Honda CRV.

A short while later, officers from the Hopewell PD were advised that the silent LoJack signal from the 1999 Honda CRV was transmitting and being tracked. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) the Honda was tracked to the 1300 block of Wilmington Street in Hopewell, Virginia. The Honda was located undamaged, parked and unoccupied with the keys in the ignition at this location. Police recovered the stolen 1999 Honda CRV and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 1999 Honda CRV on May 1999 at Maroone Honda of Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida.
