The owner of a 2009 Mercedes C350 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway.  The owner had left a spare ignition key in the center console of his Mercedes.  A suspect broke the driver’s side window, entered the Mercedes and found the key.  The suspect then stole the Mercedes.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Mercedes to a house and observed a suspect sitting in the driver’s seat and attempting to remove the stereo.  The officers arrested the suspect before he could get back into the house.  The spare key was found in the ignition.  The only damage to the Mercedes was the broken driver’s side window.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes C350 in May of 2009 at Park Place Motorcars in Dallas, Texas.
