The owners of a 2013 Honda Fit contacted the Union City Police Department to report that sometime during the night their vehicle was taken from the parking lot of their apartment complex in Union City.

The Union City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2013 Honda Fit.

A short while later officers from the East Rutherford Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC’s) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to Summit Ave. in Union City, where the Honda was found parked on the street. The Honda was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Honda Fit in September 2012 at DCH Academy Honda in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
