Vehicle:            2008 Mercedes SL-550 Roadster
Activation:        Peachtree City Police Department Georgia
Recovery:         Fulton County Atlanta Georgia
Dealership:       Mercedes Benz of Sacramento California
The owners of a 2008 Mercedes SL-550 contacted the Peachtree City Police Department to report that his vehicle was taken from his home during the night.

The Peachtree City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within a short time of the LoJack activation a Fulton County police officer equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Roadster with the LoJack PTC that were installed in the police units.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Mercedes to a parking lot in a rural area of Fulton County where it was found abandoned and in good condition.  After a check of the area the officer had the Mercedes towed to a local towing company.

The owner did not know that his Mercedes was equipped with a LoJack tracking unit but was very glad that it did.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Mercedes in November 2007.
