Vehicle:            2009 Toyota Camry
Activation:        New York Police Department
Recovery:         New York Police Department
Dealership:      Millennium Superstore Hempstead Long Island NY

The owner of the Toyota Camry stopped to get something from the store. Unfortunately he left the keys in the ignition with the motor running.  This gave the opportunity for two miscreants to jump into the Toyota and drive off with it. This was in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, confines of the 63 precinct. The owner then immediately called the New York Police Department. Fortunately for him his Toyota was equipped with the LoJack recovery system.

When the NYPD officers arrived, they took a written report for the stolen Toyota.  This information was entered by the NYPD in the City, State, and Federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Toyota.

Within minutes of the activation, police officers from the Brooklyn South Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal on their onboard LoJack Police Tracking Computer that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, confines of the 69th Precinct. They were tracking the signal from the Toyota through various streets in Canarsie. As they made a turn they were right on the Toyota and the two males jumped out and fled on foot through the nearby back yards. The Toyota was recovered in excellent condition, although they didn’t make an arrest at this time.  There is a good possibility of an arrest in the near future, due to the fact some DNA was found in the Toyota, as well as some personal property dropped by one of the miscreants.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Toyota was recovered so quickly, especially in good condition. He further stated that he was happy that when he purchased the Toyota it was equipped with the LoJack® System.

The LoJack® System was installed on September 2009.
