Vehicle: 2010 Toyota Corolla
Activation: Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department NV
Recovery: Nevada Highway Patrol Las Vegas NV
Dealership: Desert Toyota of Las Vegas NV
During the afternoon hours, the owners of a 2010 Toyota Corolla discovered their car stolen along with the keys. They immediately called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Corolla.
A short while later, troopers of the Nevada Highway Patrol swing shift were coming on duty when they began picking up the silent LoJack signal from the Toyota with their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol cars.
The troopers tracked the Toyota to the shopping center parking lot at Rainbow and W. Warm Springs where the Toyota reportedly had been abandoned by the suspect(s), and was still intact. The only thing missing were the car keys.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota on November 2009.
