The owners of a 2014 Honda Civic contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Only five minutes later officers from the LAPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the 600 block of Channel Street, Los Angeles.  The officers found the Honda parked, unoccupied and undamaged. Only 33 minutes elapsed from the time the Honda was entered into the system until it was recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in January 2014.
