This Ford E250 van was stolen from a commercial business in Kent sometime during a six day period while the owner was away.  The theft was reported to the Kent Police Department.  The report was verified and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford van.

Just eleven minutes after activating the LoJack, a Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford E250 on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  He advised Federal Way officers.

They tracked the signal to the 30300 block of block of 23rd Avenue South where the van was found abandoned in a driveway.  There was no visible damage, but the interior was filled with yard debris.  The homeowner was contacted and a person in the home was interviewed regarding the Ford.  That interview resulted in identification of a suspect.  The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford E250 in December of 2005.

This van was stolen previously in 2007 and 2013.  It was recovered by police using LoJack technology in both cases.
