The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later officers from several jurisdictions (Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Greenwood Village Police Department, Parker Police Department, Lone Tree Police Department, East Metro Auto Theft Task Force and Englewood Police Department) were picking up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Civic to general area of Tufts and Logan.

The Honda Civic was recovered and EMATT is continuing the investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in April 2003.
