The owners of a 2015 Audi Q7 contacted the Torrance Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen from their residence.

The Torrance PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.

A short while later officers from the Torrance PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Audi to the 17000 block of Atkinson, in the city of Torrance, which is only a few streets from where it was stolen.  They found the Audi parked and abandoned.  The Audi was recovered and is being processed for latent prints.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi Q7 in August 2014.
