The owner of a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 6600 block Security Blvd in the Woodlawn area of Baltimore County, Maryland.

The Baltimore County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Equinox.

A short while later officers with the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Equinox with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the 1800 block Frederick Avenue in Baltimore City. At that location, officers observed the Chevrolet parked and unoccupied. Officers recovered the stolen Chevrolet and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox in July 2004.
