The person in charge of fleet at Mercedes Benz of San Diego contacted the Hemet Police Department to report that a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 was stolen by fraudulent means and identity theft in the city of San Diego.

The Hemet PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

Five minutes later, officers from the Hemet PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz CLA 250 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to the 7800 block of Palm Avenue in Hemet.

The Mercedes was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz CLA 250 in October 2014.
