The owners of a 2011 Nissan Altima contacted the Stockton Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Stockton PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Just 20 minutes later, officers with the Stockton PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan and observed it being driven near the area of Navy and Argonaut Streets. The officers then conducted a felony traffic stop and detained the driver and passenger, both juveniles. Both suspects were detained and arrested for driving without the owner’s consent.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in February 2011.
