This Volkswagen was stolen sometime during a five day period from the owner’s residence in the Green Lake area of north Seattle.  The theft was reported to the Seattle Police Department who verified the information.   The vehicle information was then entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

That same afternoon, a Seattle Police officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer was able to locate the Volkswagen approximately three miles away on Northeast 57th Street.  The Volkswagen was abandoned and apparently undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen Passat in February of 2004.
