The owner of a Dodge Charger contacted the Riverside Sheriff’s Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen by an “Armed” Car Jack suspect. Apparently the individual had just asked the owner for a ride and produced a hand gun forcing the occupants out of the Dodge.  The suspect fled in the Dodge, however, did not have the electronic key.  The deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later, deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department Perris Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to a dead end street at Nandina Street and Roosevelt locating the undamaged Dodge.  No suspect was located at this time, however, the investigation continues. The Dodge was later released to its owner.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Dodge in October 2012.
