The owners of a 2013 Jeep Wrangler contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Central Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

Seven (7) minutes later, patrol officers from the LAPD Rampart Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Jeep on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Jeep was tracked to the area of 7th Street and Garland Ave. The Jeep was located, abandoned and parked on the street.

The Jeep was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Wrangler on May 2013.
