The owners of a 2000 Honda Civic contacted the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Thirteen (13) minutes later, patrol officers from the LAPD Hollywood Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford on the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Honda was tracked to the area of Lexington and Vine Ave. The officers observed the Honda and conducted a felony traffic stop. The suspect was taken into custody for the stolen Honda without incident.

The Honda was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda on October 1999.
