The owners of a 2014 Toyota Corolla contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the City of Newark.

The Newark Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2014 Toyota Corolla.

A short while later officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the Ironbound section of Newark where the Toyota was recovered parked.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Toyota Corolla in February 2014.
