The owners of a 2010 Honda Accord contacted the West Orange Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway on Lowell Avenue in West Orange.

The West Orange PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2010 Honda Accord.

A short while later officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Departments picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a shopping mall in West Caldwell where the Honda was recovered abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Honda Accord in December 2009.
