The owner of a 2004 Mercedes Benz E-320 contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 4600 block Kenmore Drive NW.  The owner stated that there was a spare set of keys inside the Mercedes at the time of theft.

DC Metropolitan PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2004 Mercedes Benz E-320.

A short while later officers from the DC Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2004 Mercedes Benz E-320 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to 2300 Good Hope Road SE in Washington, DC. At that location, officers observed the Mercedes parked and unoccupied. The owner was contacted and he responded to the scene.  His undamaged Mercedes was returned to him by police.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2004 Mercedes Benz E-320 during April, 2004.
