The owner of this Honda contacted the Riverside Sheriff’s Office and reported that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence in a burglary. The deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Several hours later, deputies picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle from Grapefruit St in Coachella to the 85500 block of Napoli and located the unoccupied vehicle.  They noticed that the front door of the location was unsecured as apparently the Honda had been taken from that location. They entered and contacted a male who lived in the partitioned part of the residence and soon learned that he and another unnamed suspect had taken the vehicle.  This suspect was arrested and later booked for the residential burglary and VC 10851.  Investigation continues.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Honda Civic in April 2007.
