The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owner had gone to a client’s home to perform a job and went inside. When he went back outside to gather some tools for the job the Chevrolet was gone.

Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet pickup.

A short while later officers from Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to an apartment parking lot where the pickup was parked and abandoned. Several of the owner’s tools were missing from the pickup bed. The Chevrolet was processed for prints and returned to the grateful owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado in August 2006.
