The owners of a 2010 Toyota Corolla were warming their car up in the driveway of their residence when two suspects entered it and sped off.  The owners contacted the Redford Township Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

Redford Township PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later a detective from the South East Auto Theft Team (SEATT) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Corolla with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detective tracked the stolen Corolla to a residential area of Detroit.

Surveillance was established on the vehicle and after a short while 2 suspects returned and were arrested.  Detectives found flat screen televisions, other electronics, a diamond wedding ring and other jewelry inside the stolen Toyota.  Further investigation by SEATT revealed that the arrested persons were involved in multiple burglaries in the Detroit metro area.  The suspects were charged with Auto Theft.  Burglary, theft, and further charges are to be presented to the Grand Jury.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in August 2009.
