This Ford Ranger pickup was stolen from the owners’ workplace in Kent during the afternoon.  The owner had inadvertently left a set of keys in the truck.  When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Kent Police Department.  The report was verified and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

Later that evening, a King County Sheriff deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen pickup on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, he tracked the signal to the area of SE 344th & SE Lake Moneysmith Road where it was found abandoned.  The vehicle was in a wooded area and could not be seen from the main road.  The only damage was a missing car battery.  The owner was contacted and came to the recovery scene to take possession of his truck.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Ranger in March of 2005.
