The foreman for a Michigan construction company discovered that a New Holland TC30 Loader with implements and the Felling trailer it was on was missing from a job site in Orion Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the New Holland.

A short while later deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from Michigan State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen New Holland with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to a remote commercial area of Waterford Township.  It appeared that the suspects parked it there to let it “cool off”.

Surveillance was established on the loader, however the suspects did not return.  The owner was notified and responded to pick it up along with the Felling flatbed trailer.  The owner was very happy that he had LoJack installed on the New Holland and that law enforcement was able to recovery it quickly.  He is making arrangements to having LoJack® installed on his newer equipment.  This mater is to be further investigated by the Oakland County Auto Theft Task Force (OCAT).

The LoJack® System was installed in the New Holland TC30 Loader in March 2010.
