The owner of a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder contacted the New York Police Department 62 Precinct in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn to report that his vehicle was stolen from in front of his house where he had it parked.

When NYPD arrived they took a written report, this information was then entered into the state and federal crime computers. Once this was done the LoJack tracking device that was hidden on the vehicle was automatically activated.

Soon after, police officers from the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit Brooklyn picked up the silent signal on their on board tracking computer that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn within the 68th Precinct. They tracked the signal to a residential area of Bay Ridge. There they found the vehicle parked and unoccupied on a residential street. They decided to stake the vehicle out. After a short while when no one showed up for the vehicle, they took the vehicle into custody. The vehicle was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder November 3, 2000  at  Bay Ridge Nissan NY.
