The owner of a 2008 Honda Accord contacted the Nassau County Police Department, 3rd Precinct Carle Place, to report that her vehicle was stolen from where she had it parked in the mall parking lot while she was shopping.

When the Nassau County Police Department officers arrived, they took a written report; this information was then entered into the state and federal crime computers. This activation causes a silent signal to be sent out.
A short while later police officers from the Nassau County Police Department  3rd Precinct picked up the silent signal on their on board tracking computer that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Carle Place section of Nassau on the border of Garden City. They tracked the signal to another mall parking lot. There they found the vehicle unoccupied; they then decided to stake the vehicle out. After a short while when no one showed up for the vehicle, they took the vehicle into custody. The vehicle was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Honda Accord at Millennium Honda Hempstead NY.
