The owners of a 2011 Toyota Yaris discovered that their car was stolen from a strip mall in Fremont where they had parked it.

Fremont PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.
Less than 2 hours later, Fremont Police officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Yaris with the LoJack  Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to residential area a few miles from where it was stolen.  The Toyota was abandoned and undamaged.  The owners of the car were notified of its recovery and the vehicle was released to them.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 Toyota Yaris in September 2013 at Toyota of San Diego.
