The owner of a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country contacted the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen as a result of an assault.  Deputies were dispatched to the crime location off North Main Street just outside Kernersville city limits.  Arriving at the scene deputies found the victim had been beaten during what was determined to be a “strong armed robbery”.  Prior to being taken for medical treatment, the victim gave information the suspects were two females, one he had known for a short time.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

Within minutes deputies from the Forsyth County Sheriff Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies, aided by officers of the Winston Salem Police Department and the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles License and Theft Bureau, tracked the vehicle to a residence off Cotton and Apple Street near the I-40 Business and Peters Creek Parkway exit.  As officers approached the residence, a suspect ran on foot but was apprehended.  Both suspects were taken into custody; the vehicle was processed for latent evidence before being released to the victim.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler Town & Country in November 2005.
