A car dealer in Phoenix contacted the Phoenix Police Department and reported that vehicle had been stolen by fraudulent purchase. Auto Theft detectives worked diligently on this case, verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Less than 20 minutes from the activation by the Phoenix Police Department, officers from the Fontana Police Department, located in San Bernardino County, California picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Oleander Ave and Santa Anita where they located the stolen Mercedes on the side of a residence behind a chain link fence. A resident was contacted and a possible suspect was identified.  Phoenix detectives were notified of the recovery.  Investigation will be handled by Phoenix PD.  The undamaged Mercedes was stored for safekeeping and will be released to the victim car dealer.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Mercedes in June 2005.
