The owners of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen sometime during the day from the parking lot of their place of employment.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

A short while later officers from Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a convenience store parking lot near 107th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The Hyundai was found unoccupied at this location.  The vehicle was later recovered and returned to the owner in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hyundai Sonata in May 2012.
