When NYPD officer arrived they took a written report, this information was then entered into the city, state and federal crime computers for reporting stolen vehicles, and it is also downloaded into NCIC which is the nationwide computer for stolen vehicles. Once this was done without the owner or the police making any notifications to anyone the LoJack® System that was hidden on the vehicle was automatically activated. This activation causes a silent signal to be sent out.

A short while later police officers from the Queens North Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent signal on their LoJack onboard tracking computer that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Flushing section of Queens, confines of the 109th Precinct. They tracked the signal to a commercial area of Flushing. There they found the vehicle parked and unoccupied on a commercial lined street. They decided to stake the vehicle out. After a short while when no one showed up for the vehicle, they took the vehicle into custody. The vehicle was recovered in good condition.

The owner was contacted and she was elated that here vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially in good condition, and with no damage. She further stated that she purchased the LoJack for her vehicle 10 years ago, and didn’t think it would still work. However when she found out that it did work, she said it was well worth the money she invested in it 10 years ago.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2004 Nissan Pathfinder on December 3, 2004 at Barron Nissan/Peugeot Greenvale NY
