The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Gallup Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Gallup PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Approximately 70 minutes after the stolen vehicle entry, officers from Albuquerque Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a commercial business in the area of Central and Western Skies located in the Foothills Area Command of Albuquerque.

The stolen Chevrolet was recovered and will be released to its owner at a later date.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in December 2006.
