This Volkswagen Beetle was stolen sometime during a two-day period from the owner’s residence in Seattle. When the theft was discovered, it was reported to the Seattle Police Department.  The report was verified and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.
That afternoon Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Volkswagen on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked it to an apartment complex near Lynnwood.  It was abandoned and apparently undamaged

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen in August of 2003.
