The owners of a 2014 Wanco Solar-Powered Light Tower contacted the San Francisco Police Department to report that their Construction Equipment was stolen from a construction site in San Francisco.

San Francisco verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Light Tower.

Minutes later, officers from San Francisco  picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen light tower with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the light tower to the Outer Sunset District of San Francisco where the light tower was found abandoned on the street.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Wanco Solar Powered Light Tower in July 2014.
