LoJack® System Helps San Diego Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota Prius

The owners of a 2014 Toyota Prius contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence in San Diego.

San Diego police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Prius.

Seven minutes later officers from San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Toyota Prius with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 3200 block of Collier Ave. in San Diego. Approximate value of vehicle: $17,700.00

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Prius in September 2014.
